Better Together
40 Days of Community at
First Presbyterian Church of Petaluma
To Everyone at First Presbyterian Church:
Our church will be participating in a 40 Days of Community Campaign, which will run for seven weekends beginning September 20. The primary focus of this campaign is to encourage our congregation to work together on fulfilling God's purposes by developing and deepening an authentic community within our church and reaching out to the community around our church.
This seven-week church-wide emphasis will include:
- Worship services that focus on the theme of the week
- New Small Groups that invite discussion and application of the theme of the week
- Youth and Children involvement in the theme of the week in Sunday School and Youth Groups
- Family discussions of the theme for the week
- Churchwide involvement in mission/outreach projects, serving Petaluma. Local outreach opportunities will be identified for our small groups to do together.
I encourage you to join with us now, at this early stage, to pray for our church and this campaign. The potential impact this could have on our lives will be increased if the soil of our hearts is prepared through prayer. We are excited to embark on this spiritual journey together this fall, and we appreciate your prayers for the Campaign Team, for our church leaders, and for the impact of the campaign in the lives of our people and the people of our community that we will reach out to in Christ's name. So begin now to pray and prepare your own heart for the life-changing adventure of the 40 Days of Community.
If you would like to join one of the teams that are coordinating the various parts of the campaign, we would love to talk to you! Please contact our Campaign Director, Tim Scheele at 707-781-0982 or by email.
With God's help we can make a difference - and grow closer together as a result.
Pastor Dave Weidlich
