From time to time, First Presbyterian Church of Petaluma offers the Alpha course.
So...What Is Alpha?
The Alpha course provides an opportunity to explore the meaning of life.
At an Alpha course you can explore the Christian faith in a safe, relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away. It is low-key, friendly and fun – and is supported by all the main Christian denominations. Why not take this opportunity to explore the meaning of life?
Over 8 million people worldwide have now attended an Alpha course. It is running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations, and at universities, in prisons and on military bases across the world.
Do you have questions like:
Does God exist?
If God exists, does he care about me?
Who is Jesus and why did he die?
How do I pray?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
How can I overcome evil in my life?
Does God heal today?
We don't offer instant answers, but we will help you explore your faith, at your own pace, with other seekers of truth.

dinner. Helping one another. Dinner is followed by large group
presentation and small group discussion. Ask anything. Here’s your chance to ask questions and
express your opinions.
