FaithWeaver® Bible Curriculum
(See the PDF doc)

This Fall we will be using FaithWeaver in our church.  FaithWeaver is all about drawing families into a rich, growing friendship with God – and each other, too.  There’s a relational piece to every FaithWeaver lesson, a chance for learners of all ages to grow closer.

FaithWeaver encourages learners to weave faith into life.  By providing meaningful activities, great discussions, and personal challenges, FaithWeaver takes learners past head knowledge of the Bible and into heart-and-life change.  But we don’t stop there – each week, students are held accountable for the way they’ve lived out their faith during the past week.  (This works even for students who were not in class the previous week.)

In order for you to best choose which class best fits your child’s needs, please review our Sunday School overview:

9:00 Service (Children go directly to Sunday School)

Preschool/Kindergarten
Our “Sonshine Kids” classroom is located in the Discovery Room.

Young children have unique needs, and their understanding of the world is limited.  The most effective method of learning for this age group is through play.  FaithWeaver will give each child a chance to actively explore Bible truths in ways that involve tKingdom Kidshe whole child.  They will discover ways to do what they have learned in class, so Bible truths are applied in ways that have real meaning for their lives.  This year, ‘Theo’ the puppet is back to teach this age group in a fun way.

1st through 3rd graders:
Our “Kingdom Kids” classroom is located in the CE Wing, 1st bay.

FaithWeaver curriculum focuses on this age group’s emerging reading skills by helping children explore Bible stories and verses that they are able to understand and recall.  Kids will learn about God’s greatness through games, art, storytelling, journaling and other activities, as we strive to help them become wholehearted followers of Jesus.

The Edge4th through 6th graders:
“The Edge” classroom is located in the CE Wing, 2nd bay.

These “tweens” will explore the deeper questions that come after learning bible stories, such as “So what?  How do these stories and lessons apply to my own life?  And what am I going to do with that knowledge?”  Having this age group meet together on Sunday mornings to explore their faith is a great way to build bonds and friendships with one another that will hopefully carry with them to youth group as they graduate out of Sunday School.

10:30 Service (Children begin in the service and go to Sunday School after Discovery Time)

Preschool through 6th graders:  FAITHWEAVER FRIENDS
Our “Kids Church” classroom is located in the CE Wing, 1st and 2nd bays.

Kids Church is a safe environment where kids make new friends, and FaithWeaver Friends lessons encourage children to focus on the one most important thing in life: a growing relationship with Jesus. Every week, the activities at FaithWeaver Friends help children focus on this one thing:  Whether they ‘re studying Bible stories from the Old Testament or the New Testament, learners will be challenged to grow closer to Jesus every week.

This combined – age group allows big kids and little kids to learn to work together.  Kids Church is like a family in which kids naturally learn with and from one another as kids, whether older or younger, help one another throughout their time together.  Kids Church is a fun, interactive hour designed to empower kids and encourage them to put their faith in action.  Part of the day all age groups are combined in one large group, then small groups get together for age-appropriate discussion.  Instant Bible Dramas, music, service projects, games, crafts, journals for each age group and engaging activities all connect with the week’s Bible Point.  While kids keep coming back for the fun, we can accomplish our mission by continuing to nurture and teach them spiritually.

No matter which FaithWeaver class you choose for your child(ren), this curriculum provides an opportunity for families – toddlers, children, youth, and adults – to study the same Bible passage (at different levels, of course).  Families emerge from church with a common point of reference that will spark discussion and application at home.

Pastor Dave will be basing his sermons on the FaithWeaver curriculum, which begins with Genesis, for six weeks (September 7 – October 12).  We will continue to offer all-church activities and family activities based on the curriculum throughout the year.  Further opportunities to stay “on the same page” with your kids are available by joining one of our small groups or adult Sunday School classes, many of which are studying Faith Weaver.  Remember, you are the best FaithWeaver in your children’s lives – please let us know how we can help you as you raise your child in faith.
