FPCP on PCUSA Website

FPC-Petaluma Website featured on PCUSA Home Page

Each week the Presbyterian Church (USA) website (www.pcusa.org) features one of the many congregations with a website. On February 18, 2010, an image of our church and a link to this website were included on the their home page. By clicking the image, our Website home page was immediately opened in their browser.

Pastor Dave Weidlich and Grete Hansen, Children's Sunday School coordinator were notified by email that the church's website would be featured via email on 2/18/10 from Candace C. Hill, Coordinator, Educational Ministries and Robin Rueff, Associate of Promotions at the denomination headquarters in Louisville, TN. The email stated: Our staff would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ministry to the children, youth and adults in your church and community. May God richly bless your faithful witness and service.

Congratulatory emails were also recieved by Pastor Dave from people who visited the site, praising him for his Welcoming Video, filmed in his office inviting websurfers to come to our church for worship. You can see the video by clicking here.

40 Days of Community

40 Days of Community

It's All About Love
It's all about love.
That's the goal of our 40 Days of Community. We're deepening our love for our church and community.
Communication techniques are important; we need good ones. Our skills for resolving conflict are well worth the investment of time we are giving. But, knowledge and skills, without the motivation of love, are worthless. Even having great faith is pointless without love. That's what the Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13: "If I …can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."
So, we are learning to love each other more deeply, more completely and in more meaningful ways.
I hope you are partcipating fully as we are:

  1. Meeting weekly for congregational worship and teaching
  2. Meeting weekly in a small group for discussion, implementation and community outreach project
  3. Prayer, reading and journaling daily.

With God's help we are making a difference - and growing closer together as a result.
Pastor Dave Weidlich

Restroom Renovation

Restroom Renovation
We will miss the art in the Women's restroom

The renovation of restrooms was planned so that they are accessible for handicapped people and considerably more comfortable. In addition, a new restroom will be built for children inside the Christian Education Wing.
This $100,000 project is completely funded through the giving of church members and attendees to our “Bridge to the Future” building campaign, which began in 2007 and continues through 2009. Additional building improvements and a new building are also being planned.
