"The garden is our oldest metaphor. In Genesis God creates the first Adam from the adamah, and tells him to “till and keep” it, the fertile soil on which all life depends. Human from humus. That’s our first etymological clue as to the inextricable bond we share with the soil."

The Garden Project
First Presbyterian Church is committed to caring for and tending to the gift of God's good creation, and to stewarding this gift for the wellbeing of others.
All of the organically grown produce harvested in our garden is either available on our Sunday morning veggie table for a donation, or is hand delivered to people in their homes. Proceeds from the veggie table are put back in sustaining the garden, and donated to local organizations who provide healthy food for those in need. We rely on our church bees to pollinate, and we grow enough for the local deer to have their share. The garden is a labor of love, and whether you have a green thumb or not, you're welcome to join us. |
